“Now more than ever, I am driven to help people overcome pain, whether emotional or physical, and empower them to become the best version of themselves”
My story
I have always been passionate about personal growth. With a background in Counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, as a Clinician, Supervisor and Manager, I have worked both in the NHS and in private practice treating a range of conditions including depression, generalised anxiety, OCD, PTSD, health anxiety and chronic pain, using a stepped care model and delivering coaching and psychotherapy.
However in 2012, I was forced to take all I had learned and implement it in my own life following a car accident which left me with a chronic pain injury.
Managing this condition shifted my perspective and through research into neuroscience, quantum mechanics, the subconscious mind, reiki, meditation and breathwork, energy healing and combining with more traditional evidence-based esoteric treatments in the management of pain, I was able to achieve successful outcomes and I now specialise in this area in order to share what I have learned and help more people who have been held back through pain, both emotional and physical, to feel empowered and to improve the quality of their lives.
I am excited to be writing my account of this story The Pain Phoenix – the irony of a therapist’s journey from injury to insight
This is the story of my journey to recovery following the sudden car accident which forced me to examine first-hand the challenges faced when living with chronic pain and an insight into the treatment options and my own spiritual practices which led me to develop new strategies to boost my recovery. In the book I focus on and share specific tools and techniques which I used to overcome my chronic pain condition and which I now use to support clients who live with pain whether physical or emotional.
There are so many people who live with pain every day, many of whom suffer in silence, and it is my wish to start a conversation, raise awareness of the importance of self-care and to share strategies that may be helpful to others.
I am also creating affirmation cards to help inspire and motivate. – Coming Soon
